Holy Week refers to the week commemorating Christ's passion, burial, and resurrection. Beginning with the Monday after Palm Sunday (Holy Monday), each day commemorates something special about this most significant event in the Byzantine Church: the Resurrection.
Holy Monday commemorates Jesus condemning the fig tree as he walks outside of Jerusalem (Mt 21:18).
Holy Tuesday commemorates the parable of the Ten Wise Virgins (Mt 25:1-13)
Holy Wednesday commemorates the betrayal of Jesus by Judas and the anointing of Jesus by Mary at Bethany.
Holy Thursday commemorates the initiation of the Eucharist at the Last Supper and the washing of the feet of the apostles by Jesus.
Holy Friday (Good Friday) commemorates the crucifixion, death, and burial of Jesus.
Holy Saturday commemorates Jesus's conquering of Hades.
Pascha (Easter Sunday) commemorates the glorious resurrection of Jesus.
